Small Animal Surgery

Veterinary Surgeons

The veterinarians and staff at Town & Country Animal Hospital understand that the decision to allow your beloved companion to undergo surgery is never an easy one. We strive to ensure your pet’s procedure is as comfortable and stress-free as possible.

Perhaps the most important pre-surgical step is to discuss why we believe a particular procedure is necessary and what it entails. Your veterinarian will provide you with information on proper postoperative care and answer any questions you may have so that you feel comfortable knowing you are making the right choice for your pet.

We regularly perform many types of surgeries, including but not limited to:

Spays and neuters | Ophthalmic Surgery | Bladder surgery | Tumor removal | Skin mass removal | Gastrointestinal surgeries |  Feline Thyroidectomy | Feline Perineal Urethrostomy | Orthopedic Procedures | Extra-capsular CCL Repair | Luxating Patella Imbrication and Trochlear Groove Osteotomy

Other orthopedic procedures offered in our practice by a specialized orthopedic surgeon. These include TPLOs as well as complicated fracture repairs.

Labs

We operate a full-service laboratory that allows us to perform complete blood counts, chemistry profiles, electrolytes, urinalysis, fecal exams, cytology evaluations, and other valuable tests.

Radiology

X-rays are one of the most common and useful diagnostic tools in medicine because of their ability to penetrate tissues and show your pet’s organs and bones.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound is a painless, safe, non-invasive procedure that we use to evaluate your pet’s internal organs. It is one of the many ways we strive to give you peace of mind.

Endoscopy

Endoscopy is a minimally invasive diagnostic procedure commonly used to evaluate the interior surfaces of your pet’s gastrointestinal organs through a small tube with a camera inserted into his or her body.

Town and Country is the best. We were new to Texas and they treated my dog in his last month and were extremely professional and sweet. After his passing, I received a handwritten card signed by the entire staff and it truly touched me. They do an excellent job with their animal care.

Lauren Kimbro, Dog Owner

Everyone who works here has been very nice and pleasant to us, and we’ve appreciated the good care we got for our animals. I’ve seen Dr. Strittmatter work with my dad’s cattle and Dr. Black has helped us with our dog and cat.

Dr. Black explained everything and let me be involved with choices and decisions and never pushed anything, which I really appreciate. I can happily recommend Town and Country Animal Hospital!

Sarah Waite, Dog & Cat Owner
This place is awesome!! Kind, caring, compassionate. From the initial phone call throughout the whole process we had a great experience. My cat was at ease and was such a good boy.

Dr. Stritmatter was wonderful. I highly recommend. Vet techs and receptionist were wonderful as well. Thank you all.

Heather Huber, Cat Owner

“We love Town & Country Animal Hospital! It’s 100% worth the trip! Dr. Black and the whole team are outstanding at what they do, and I wouldn’t trust our beloved dogs (and chickens) to anyone else. Highly recommend.”
