Compassionate Veterinary Care

Choosing a veterinarian is one of the most important decisions that you make as a pet owner. When you choose Town and Country Animal Hospital, you can be assured your pet is receiving veterinary care based on the most advanced medical protocols from a welcoming, experienced and dedicated team.

Over 30 Years of Excellence

Town & Country Animal Hospital was founded by Dr. Joseph Strittmatter in 1998. Originally based in Denton, the practice’s rapid growth triggered a move to a clinic located at Dr. Strittmatter’s home farm in Aubrey .

Dr. Beau Black joined the practice as an associate veterinarian in 2015 and then became part owner in 2020. With a focus on quality, not quantity, we are able to offer the highest degree of care possible to small animals, large animals and equines.

Good Communication Leads To Good Health

When you bring your pet to see us, we want you to feel confident your pet is receiving the best care possible. Ask us anything you want to know. The veterinarians and staff at Town & Country Animal Hospital know great veterinary care begins with taking the time to get to know your pet and talking with you. It is important for us to get to know you and your pet: it is a relationship we hope will last for many years.

It is also important you know our commitment to you and your pet doesn’t end when you leave our hospital. We also make sure you have the knowledge you need to provide the best possible care for your pet at home or on the farm.

Town and Country is the best. We were new to Texas and they treated my dog in his last month and were extremely professional and sweet. After his passing, I received a handwritten card signed by the entire staff and it truly touched me. They do an excellent job with their animal care.

Everyone who works here has been very nice and pleasant to us, and we’ve appreciated the good care we got for our animals. I’ve seen Dr. Strittmatter work with my dad’s cattle and Dr. Black has helped us with our dog and cat. I can happily recommend Town and Country Animal Hospital!
Sarah Waite, Dog & Cat Owner
This place is awesome!! Kind, caring, compassionate. From the initial phone call throughout the whole process we had a great experience. My cat was at ease and was such a good boy.

Dr. Stritmatter was wonderful. I highly recommend. Vet techs and receptionist were wonderful as well. Thank you all.

Yes, a vet is always on call on nights and weekends to see emergencies for small or large animals.  If you have an emergency after hours, please call the clinic to be directed to the vet on call.  However, we do not have the clinic staffed 24 hours a day and some emergencies may require more intense monitoring and in those instances,  we will direct you to a 24 hour emergency clinic in your area.

At Town and Country Animal Hospital, we treat dogs, cats, cattle, sheep and goats, llamas and alpacas, and horses.  Learn more about our large animal services.

We are a mixed animal practice, there may be an instance when the veterinarians are out of the office on a farm call.  Please call ahead to avoid waiting for a doctor to become available, and to give you and your pet the most time and attention at your appointment.
